Montenegro is a small, cozy and very friendly country in Southeastern Europe, located in Adriatic sea, surrounded by beautiful mountains. Here are 10 reasons you should travel to Montenegro. This country isn’t a part of European Union, but its currency is Euro. I truly believe they will be a full member of EU. Montenegro develops their services fast and try to become a member as soon as possible.

Food Features and Local CuisineNjeguški pršut

The interesting fact that even located on the sea coast they discovered the way to the sea not that long time ago. So fishing industry is still not that progressive and old. That’s why seafood isn’t very cheap in there as you can expect to find in sea coastal country. And that surprised me. But you can go fishing to Skadar Lake and Own food products in Montenegrofor $5 Euro per day you can fish up to 100 fishes or so. But it will be really cheap and a pleasure for real fishmen. Speaking of food, going to the mountains where you can find natural products like milk, honey, cheese are many others which are not only natural, but healthy being grown in mountains, in perfect place. I also love Burek. It’s like patty and I like it with meat and especially with cheese. You can buy itBurek in any bakery and it’s so tasty and cheap (0.5-1 Euro). But the most famous and really tasty delicacy in Montenegro is Njeguški pršut. Pršut is dry-cured ham, served uncooked, similar to Italian Prosciutto. Its particular flavour and aroma are, according to manufacturers, the result of the mixture of sea and mountain air and beech wood burned during the drying process. It’s very teletina ispod sacaexpensive delicacy but the price worth is. It needs to try and it’s very hard to produce it and it takes a lot of time and effort. One of the most tasty local dishes is Ispod saca – the Balkans’ version of a roast. It usually uses veal, lamb or goat, as a meat, which is slow-roasted with potatoes, carrots, onions, maybe a tomato and a pinch of paprika under a metal dome covered with coals. It’s sooooo so tasty and really nice dinner choice. Meat in Montenegro is usually very tasty and fresh, very soft no matter the type. The ecology isPrsut and other delicacy perfect and that’s why it is so tasty. Also I love cheese products which you can taste separately or in salads. So there are a lot of different dishes and you can always try something new or find out a new recipe from locals. Locals like to use a lot of spices and a lot of ingredients, making unique and special dishes.

People

Life in BarThis is my absolutely favourite topic. I can write about Montenegrins a lot because there are no words enough good and right to describe my experience with people in Montenegro. Traveling to different countries I have an opportunity to meet different and great people but no one is even close to Montenegrins. When I was looking for a place to stay, I used to hear that people require a deposit or to pay before arrival. But not in Montenegro. People there areMontenegro. In Bar city truthful, honest and open. I found a good villa to stay with a good price for us and hosts didn’t ask to pay before arrival. We paid once we arrived. They met us by car from the place we have arrived even it was a late evening. We didn’t know the exact time of arrival and they said it’s not a problem at all and we are welcome any time. They met us like we were a part of their family and offered some food, ice-Bar. Coastcream and drinks once we arrived. It was unexpected after a long and hard road. It was a great family and only their son spoke English and his parents – no. We also didn’t speak Serbian but from the first meeting it was really easy to understand each other as Serbian is a bit similar to Ukrainian language. The apartment we have rented was upstairs on the second floor and it was perfect. Our hosts were the best people I’ve ever met in life. They shared everything they had with Street in Barabsolute strangers. They feasted us with cakes, meat and other dishes and we even had an inspiration to cook new dishes and share with them too. For the short period of time we became a part of their family and we were invited for a family dinner. They took us to the center so we could pay a tax by their car for free even we didn’t ask about that. Their hospitality was incredible. Even their neighbors were so friendly with us knowing we are from other country. We Home made cakestayed there for two months and it was the best time of my life. All locals were so friendly even in supermarkets. Once one guy wanted to pay for his products before us in a supermarket but the cashier said that we supposed to be first. It was fair and so great. Even I knew only some words in Serbian I was able always to do shopping and tell to a woman the road who asked me. All people were smiling and friendly with me, so helpful and first in my Kittieslife I didn’t feel myself as a tourist. People were not afraid to leave open cars and even with keys inside. For me it was wild. In two weeks in Montenegro first for the last years I felt safe – safe to walk alone or even to leave open door in an apartment. There are no crimes at all and all people know each other. Each city is small and so cosy, there are a lot of kids and everyone is happy in there. Life is slow and amazing. People just enjoy life and that was amazing. Living in a Port of Barbig city in Ukraine I used to that people all in rush all the time, there are a lot of car accidents in big cities because of that and people beep to each other when they are angry or think that other driver was wrong. And when I saw that people beep to each other in Montenegro all the time I couldn’t understand what’s going on. Then I understood that the reason was quite the opposite. People beep when they meet a friend of neighbor and it’s the way to say “Hello” 🙂 They can just stop on the street and talk being on drive even that other cars have to wait until they will be able to move on narrow streets and no one will be angry. That’s what I love in Montenegro – you can feel safe everywhere even in touristic places and like you are at home. So Montenegrins are very honest, sincere and hospitable people – you will love to visit them!
