Donkey rodeo

Donkey farm in CyprusOne of the most interesting entertainments I’ve found in Cyprus – was attend to Donkey Rodeo. Locals like donkeys a lot and take care of them. There are some donkey farms in the country where people grew them and invite tourists to try local products. The excursion to such a farm took the whole day. It was like in hour Olive Trees in a farmaway from my hotel by bus. The farm was very big and there were three blocks of fun. The first was excursion inside the farm. We had a chance to see all they produce on a farm. There were a lot of fowls – chicken, peacocks, ducks… Also there were a lot of olive trees and one of trees was very old like more than 200 years. They also produce own olive oil and olives. And of course there were like more than 200 donkeys. On the first part of excursion we also did have a testing of own products. It was olive oil, olives, different tinctures, and the heaven for women – a lot of natural cosmetics: lipsticks, creams, gels, soaps and others. The Riding a Donkeylocal olives are awesome and I would buy them if I wouldn’t know that there is a supermarket in front of my hotel with cheaper olives so I bought them in there. There were and other Donkey Farm Productsproducts which all tourists had an opportunity to taste and buy. My absolutely favourite was ice-cream with donkey milk. I can say it was pretty awesome especially in a hot summer day, and the taste was a bit unusual, but it was all natural and really tasty. There was also an excursion with history part but I found it boring so I prefered to walk around myself and took pictures I wanted. After that was the most interesting part – donkey rodeo. First the instructor, which was really funny, told us rules how to deal which such cute animals, how Instrustions before Donkey Rodeonot to hurt them and ride them properly. After that we got helmets and own donkey. And we were walking around on donkeys. It was funny and I was sorry for animals when big guys were riding them. Luckily I’m small so didn’t hurt anyone 🙂 Of course I took some nice pictures during the ride. It was really a big farm so we could walk freely and don’t disturb other tourists. After some free time on a farm, feeding Animals on Donkey Farmdonkeys and enjoying the view (and it was almost evening already), locals prepared for us a very cool show with amazing and very tasty dinner and dances. First local dances and show artists shown their skills and it was impressive. They didn’t only dance, they also shown some tricks with glass and clothes. They were wearing local national clothes and it was all funny. They taught us to dance national dances which I really liked. After that we were already very hungry (after such intense program), we had a chance to eat local dishes. There were like 7-8 different groups of Show on Donkey Farmtourists (5-6 russian groups and some others) and we could choose dishes we wanted to try – different meat and vegetables, olives and cheese. It was sooooo good especially when they served a tasty local wine. There were actually white, red wine and something more strong which I haven’t tried as I don’t usually drink. After that everyone could dance as they wanted and enjoy fresh air and stars. So I came back to the hotel when it was already dark and I was even tired from all activities. The excursion was really awesome and it’s a very popular one in Cyprus. And it worth the attend.
