“Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you travelled – Mohammed”
It was supposed to be just another boring work day to me, so I was already prepared for it. It was unexpectedly cold, with the fog covering everything. But, after getting there, I found out that I had to go in a tour, as a translator, with a small group of tourists, Brazilians and the ones that I was going to translate for, from Belgium.
The destination was the Vale do Rio Claro or Clear River Valley. To get there, we need to drive around 20 kms by the highway that leads to Cuiabá and around 7 kms in a sand road. Because of that, the transport needs to be a 4×4 vehicle, otherwise you wouldn’t pass the first kilometer Haha Important to say that there was no fog anymore, since we went down the mountain.
We were deep inside the Cerrado, and the first stop was in a bath spot in the Rio Claro. The tourists were given masks and so, so they could watch the thousand of fishes in the river, who didn’t seem to mind the human presence there. It’s such a good spot for bath, the water is warm and clear and in the bottom of the river is made basically by sand.
Next stop was a little mountain we had to climb, called the Crista do Galo, which gave us a spectacular view of the whole area, surrounded by mountains and woods, which made it worth it all the effort of climbing (and believe me, for me it was “THE EFFORT” Haha ). It’s amazing that, even though I’m living here basically for my whole live, there are still places to discover. What was supposed to be just another day in the office, it turned in a great and adventurous experience!
